Implant Replacement (Open Capsulotomy)

With the availability of the softer, more natural feeling gel implants, Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, PA and Dr. Howard Dawkins offer patients the opportunity to replace their saline implants at an affordable price. Whether your reason for implant replacement is a desire for larger or smaller implants, to correct wrinkling, or update older implants, Dr. Howard Dawkins will explain the procedure and answer all of your questions.

Implant Replacement (Open Capsulotomy) is similar to breast augmentation (augmentation mammaplasty) in that it can be performed on women of any age, the patient is usually able to return to work within a week, and the procedure may be combined with a mastopexy (breast lift) if needed, to maximize the improvement of breast contour. A mammogram may be required.

Implant Replacement is performed while the patient is asleep under general anesthesia in the safety and comfort of our outpatient operating room. Aesthetic Operative Suite, LLC is accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, Inc. During surgery, Dr. Dawkins will use the same incision site as your previous surgery to lessen scarring.

Gel filled breast prosthesis are available again as of November, 2006. Dr. Howard Dawkins has more than 30 years experience using both saline and gel filled breast implants and was part of the national gel filled implant study from 1992-2009 and the post-market study from 2007-2008.
