One of the first things noticed about a person is their eyes. Whether in business or romantic situations, we are all attracted to large, bright, youthful eyes. The eyes usually demonstrate the first clues of aging. Unfortunately, eye bags and droopy eyelids, caused by aging or genetics, are a very common problem. During the aging process, wrinkles, lines, and puffiness contribute to a tired or aged appearance. Eyelid contours, which are less than desirable may be the result of inherited traits, not just aging. These problems are improved by eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty).
Dr. Dawkins may operate on the upper and lower eyelids as necessary. For the upper eyelids, eyelid surgery reduces the excess overhanging skin and fat pad. For the lower eyelids, it can reduce the puffiness under the eyes and remove excess skin as well. Incisions are hidden within natural folds and beneath lash lines. The scarring is minimal and relatively invisible. Because eyelid skin is thin, you should expect some swelling and mild bruising after surgery.
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is a good first step for improving the face with minimal surgery. The eyes are the focal point of the face and contribute substantially to your overall facial appearance. Aesthetic eyelid surgery can "brighten" the face and restore a more youthful appearance.
Eyelid surgery is outpatient surgery under general anesthesia. You may return to work in a few days and have unlimited activities after 2 weeks.
