Injectable Fillers
Injectable filler materials are all similar, safe and natural and are used to restore volume and fullness to skin. These multi-use products correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds of all types, from fine lines around the lips to deep nasolabial folds. Highly versatile fillers, are also used to increase fullness and enhance the lips, define the lip lines, fill scars and plump up facial areas that have lost their youthful appearance. Although there are number of injectable filler materials on the market, the most commonly used are collagen and hyaluronic acid derivatives. The use of fillers can be extremely effective in enhancing the results of facial surgery or providing improvement to areas of concern when one isn’t quite ready for a surgical procedure.
All injectable fillers may cause the usual side effects associated with injection, such as pain, bruising, and tenderness at the injection site. Immediately after the treatment, you can expect slight redness, swelling, tenderness or an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection. Injected into the dermis in tiny amounts with a very fine needle, the result is instantaneous, producing a long-lasting, natural enhancement, gentle and safe to the skin.
Smoothing out folds and wrinkles by adding volume can make an enormous difference in appearance and sometimes make the face look several years younger. Quite frequently our patients will have Botox® injections to soften the dynamic wrinkles caused by movement such as frowning or squinting or lip pursing.

PREVELLE SILK™
PREVELLE SILK™’s unique consistency eliminates visual guesswork. The
volume you see as you inject is the volume you get. There is minimal
swelling on injection because
PREVELLE SILK™ is fully hydrated right out of
the syringe. PREVELLE SILK™’s soft, compliant formula is ideal for fine
line treatment in thin-skinned areas that tend to bruise easily with other
fillers. Use PREVELLE SILK™ to plump thin, delicate areas without the
ridging or lumping that can occur with other fillers.
PREVELLE SILK™ lasts
about 3 months.
Permanent Fillers include substances such as silicone,
Artecoll®/ArteFill®, and polyacrylamide gel. Although the idea of a “permanent” filler may sound attractive, these materials may shift, clump, or cause inflammation or infection, sometimes many years later, and cannot be removed except by surgery. Therefore, Dr. Dawkins does not consider these substances safe and they are not available at Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, PA
Because there are a wide variety of fillers available, we encourage you to schedule a consultation at Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, PA to discuss your desires and expectations. Options and recommendations for the optimal treatment regimen for your particular situation will be given.
